Versions of The Law of Correspondence state “As above, So below”, “As within, so without” and “as the microcosm, so the macrocosm”.
This law is most effective when considering your attitude toward a desired goal. If your emotional and mental attitude toward the goal are positive, it will assist the goal to manifest in the physical material level of life.
This law was created with the different levels of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual in mind. It is the basis for the science of Reflexology.

Until you are clearly conversant with the effects of the other “laws”, let this one sit on the side.
Hermetic Principle of Correspondence
The opening verse on the container of the Emerald Tablets is the following:
Without lie,
certain and most true:
What is below is like what is above,
and what is above is like what is below,
to accomplish the miracle of the One thing.
This is the OLD “As above, so below” and likely the origin of the saying.
Understanding the Law of Correspondence
At its simplest, if your attitude or beliefs are counter to your The goals, you are in for a hard time succeeding.
This is an interesting law as it works both ways – up and down. It is the ultimate in Work Smart – Not Hard.
There is another lesser known law which states that “a higher force will always overcome a lower force” meaning that a small amount of mental energy will always overcome a larger amount of physical energy.
When these are considered together many answers appear.
How do I Use the Law of Correspondence?
Initially, consider your beliefs and attitudes. If they are counter to your goals – you cannot succeed. You will have the Law of Correspondence and the Law of Attraction working against you.
“The thoughts we think and the words we speak create our experiences”
Louise L Hay
Once the higher and lower levels are in alignment and you must succeed!
Law of Correspondence Example
When you notice a health issue, look for the higher or metaphysical reason – get that one fixed and the injury etc will simply fade away – often quite quickly.
The simplest way of doing that is to look at the health issue – where is it, what does it do?
To make it easier, let’s use a simple example – arthritis in the right knee.
OK – the knee represents flexibility so this will mean that our subject is inflexible, unable to bend with the wind of events. Arthritis is associated with criticism and resentment, feeling unloved.
The right side of the body is associated with the physical and material aspects of life. The masculine aspect, giving out, letting go.
We would interpret this as stubborn ego and pride, an inability to bend, fear of change, inflexibility, won’t give in particularly about strongly held material views.
So, now we know the metaphysical reason for the problem, what can we do about it? I need to identify the main opinion or belief that is the sticking point and change it.
If the person is particularly stubborn about accepting financial or other material assistance, then the arthritis will continue until they realise that it is good to allow other people to help.
I will be in a better position to assist others when I can move around more freely.
How to practice the law of correspondence
The law of correspondence “as above, so below” means that you must align your emotional, mental and spiritual opinions with your goals for the mundane level. Manifestation starts at a higher level and once the desire exists it can be densified to become manifest in the physical realm.
It is a top down process and any hanging higher fault will stymie the rest no mater how much work is done.
A modified doctrine of the Water Barrel applies here.
In the interim – leave a comment or two – who knows, it may create a chain of thought that assists a lot of people, including me!
